Electromagnetic waves are not longitudinal waves.
A sound wave is a movement of energy travelling through a medium (air, water, or solids) caused due to a pattern of disturbances. When particles of the medium, like air, vibrate parallel to the direction of the sound waves or along the direction of propagation while transporting sound to the other end, sound waves are called longitudinal.
