Cow is administered hormone having FSH-like activity for super ovulation.

(1) In MOET, the fertilised eggs at 8–32 cell stages are transferred to surrogate mothers. The biological mother can then be administered hormones to stimulate another round of superovulation. By this way, the number of offspring that can be produced is further increased. Thus, the genetic potential of these females can be fully realised.

(3) MOET involves administering FSH-like hormone to a cow to stimulate the ovaries to produce 6 to 8 eggs, instead of the normal one egg per reproductive cycle. This increases the number of offspring produced by a female.

(4) After the hormonal treatment, the cow is artificially inseminated to fertilise the eggs that have been produced. The cow may also be bred naturally.
