Ghatprabha is not a tributary of Godavari. Purna, Manjira, and Pranhita are the tributaries of Godavari. One of India's longest and most revered rivers is the Godavari. It is also known as Burhi Ganga or Dakshini Ganga, and it drains an area of about 313,000 square kilometres. Trimbakeshwar in the Nasik district of Maharashtra is its source. Through stony terrain in Kneiss and Gondwana, it travels 1465 kilometres. The Ajanta range of hills in the Maharashtra district of Aurangabad is the source of the Purna River, a tributary of the Godavari.
