  • Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrous oxides, methane, and chlorofluorocarbons cause air pollution. 
  • Smoke from crackers and dust particles in the air is hazardous to biological systems. 
  • The dirty drain water containing urine and faeces that is carried from our homes by underground pipes (called sewers) is called sewage. The release of sewage in water bodies causes water pollution hence it is not an air pollutant.
