Bio-diesel is not an example of a fossil fuel.
Fossil fuels are those fuels that we get from beneath the ground. Fossil fuels are made up of decomposing organic matter, like plants, animals, eggshells, etc. Fossil fuels are made from the decomposition of dead plants and animals within the earth's crust under high temperatures and pressure. It takes a million years to form fossil fuels. Created from plant oils or animal fats which come from plants or animals grown recently. They are manufactured by humans and burned for transportation. Hence, Coal, petroleum, and natural gas are fossil fuels, but biodiesel is not a fossil fuel.
On the other hand, biodiesel is a biodegradable, renewable fuel which can be manufactured domestically from vegetable, animal, or recycled restaurant waste. Biodiesel has both biomass-based diesel and overall advanced biofuel characteristics of the renewable fuel standard. That's why it is considered green diesel.
