Detailed Solution

An increase in food grain production is not an impact of famine.
Due to some natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, irregular rains, droughts, etc., there has been a massive decrease in the production of food grains for farmers. If this continues for more than two or three years, it will lead to a shortage of food grains and other commodities. This increased their prices, and poor people could not afford them. This leads to their starvation or consumption of unhealthy food and water. It is called famine if this continues for an extended period or in a large area. The Bengal famine in the 1940s was the most extensive in India.
