C₅H₁₂ is not an unsaturated compound.
The organic compounds containing only carbon and hydrogen are called hydrocarbons. In unsaturated hydrocarbons, double or triple bond is present in between carbon-carbon atoms. The unsaturated hydrocarbons are further divided into two classes as alkenes and alkynes. Addition reaction occurs in these hydrocarbons. They are highly reactive and burn with a sooty or smoky flame. Alkene and alkynes are unsaturated hydrocarbons. The general formula for unsaturated compounds is C_nH_2n  and C_nH_2n-2. So, C₇H₁₂ is not an unsaturated compound because its formula is C₇H_2×7+2.
