Each nephron has two parts:

A. Glomerulus: It is a tuft of capillaries in Bowman's capsule.

Renal artery Afferent arteriole (a fine branch of the renal artery) Glomerulus  An efferent arteriole.

B. Renal tubule: It is divisible into

  • Bowman's capsule: It is a double-walled cup-like structure enclosing the glomerulus. Malpighian body (or Renal corpuscle) consists of glomerulus and Bowman's capsule.
  • Proximal convoluted tubule (PCT)
  • Henle's loop
  • Distal convoluted tubule (DCT)
  • Collecting duct
