Detailed Solution

The Indians surrendered titles awarded by the British government in order to oppose the law. This statement is not true regarding the Rowlatt Act of 1919.
Gandhiji was inspired by the success of satyagraha and decided to launch it nationwide in 1919 against the Rowlatt Act (1919). This act was enacted to quell nationalist feelings in Indians and to crack down on nationalists. This Act was passed by the Imperial Legislative Councils despite the opposition of Indian members. In this act, the government got so many powers and was allowed to stop political activities without trial for two years of detention for political prisoners. Hartals, rallies, and strikes were organised by Mahatma Gandhi on April 6th against this law. This disrupted the activities of the British government. After that, they obstructed Mahatma Gandhi from entering Delhi.
