1)     Fast change and Slow change

Change is classified as Physical change, Chemical change, Desirable change, undesirable change, periodic change, reversible change, irreversible change etc.The changes which take place over a long period of time are called as slow changes, eg., rusting of iron. The changes which take place in a short period of time are called fast changes, eg., burning of paper. The changes that can be reversed are called reversible changes, eg., melting of ice. The changes that cannot be reversed are called irreversible changes, eg., burning of wood. The changes in which no new substance is formed and properties of the original substance are not altered are called as physical changes, eg., tearing of paper. The changes in which the properties of the original substance are altered and a new substance is formed is called as chemical change, eg., ripening of a fruit.
