VIBGYOR is the correct sequence of colours in the primary rainbow.
The deviation from violet colour light is maximum, and the deviation from red colour light is minimum. The colours are in the following order - violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red in a primary rainbow which gives VIBGYOR. As the violet colour has the smallest wavelength among all the other colours in a primary rainbow, it suffers the maximum refraction, and it appears on the innermost layer. The red colour has the highest wavelength, and thus, the deviation of red light is the minimum of all and appears on the outermost layer.
