Detailed Solution

Galvanization is the method used to prevent rusting of iron.                                                                                                                            Corrosion is the gradual destruction of metals by chemical reactions with their environment. It is a natural process that converts refined metal into its stable form, i.e., oxide, carbonate, hydroxide, or sulphide. An example of corrosion is rusting of iron. Rusting is a chemical phenomenon in which iron comes in contact with air and water and forms an iron oxide called rust. A new substance formed out of the reaction. Galvanisation can be done by coating the iron material with a coat of zinc to prevent rusting. For example, the iron pipes are galvanised to prevent rusting.
