A unitary form of government is a form of government in which all power is centred in the hands of the central government. The Central Government has all powers and it's the only body of government exercising those powers. There are no limitations on the power of the central government. States exist merely at the mercy of the central government in the unitary form of government. States are provided some powers, but those that are also provided by the centre are entitled to be taken away whenever the central government wants to. The central government is the authoritative government in the unitary form of the system. China is an example of a unitary form of government.
