Detailed Solution

Chola and Rashtrakuta kingdoms emerged during the 7th and 12th centuries. Several dynasties rose to prominence in the subcontinent throughout the early medieval period. The Rashtrakutas of the Deccan, the Gurjara Pratiharas of northern India, the Palas of eastern India, the Chahamanas or Chauhanas of Ajmer, the Chandellas of central India, the Cholas of Thanjavur, the Pandyas of Madurai, etc., were a few of these. Similar to the tripartite conflict, the majority of these kingdoms fought one another for control and the growth of their spheres of influence. However, the dynasties in the north of the subcontinent progressively lost their lands to the swiftly advancing Ghaznavid and Ghorid forces from the north-western region, even though the dynasties in the south of the subcontinent remained essentially unaffected.
