The Chalukya Kingdom's administrative center was Aihole. Aryapuram and the "Cradle of Indian Architecture" are other names for Aihole. Later, when the Chalukyas relocated their capital, the significance of the Aihole architects also changed. They honed their abilities on the Badami sandstone, which served as the new capital. Also neglected were Aihole's temples. However, they became more significant subsequently when archaeological digs were placed. Between the sixth and the twelfth centuries AD, the Chalukya dynasty ruled over sections of central and southern India. Around the Raichur Doab, the Chalukya kingdom was located between the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers. Aihole was renowned for being a significant commerce hub.
