Opaque materials can form dark shadows.
When light is focused upon an opaque material, the behaviour of material over the light
passing through an object is observed. “Opaque substances cannot pass the light through it”. This
will block the light, which results in the dark area formed on the other side of the object, called a shadow. Shadow is the darkness of an area formed due to the absence of light. We can observe the shape or outline of an object but not the colour of the object’s shadow.
