Detailed Solution

Punjab and Haryana were Hindustan to Minaj-i-Siraj. Minhaj-i-Siraj was a chronicler from the 13th-century Persian region. He wrote many chronicles in the Persian language and used the term Hindustan which was very much different from the meaning that we attach to this word at present. In his chronicle of the 13th century, he meant Hindustan as the regions of Punjab and Haryana and the land between Yamuna and Ganga. He used these terms in order to depict the political boundaries of the Delhi Sultan.
