The Non-Cooperation Movement is associated with Chitta Ranjan Das.
Chittaranjan Das, an East Bengal lawyer, was a key figure in the freedom movement. He was particularly involved in the Non-Cooperation Movement. He rose to prominence in the Indian National Congress and was well-known for his public speaking abilities and insight. After the Non-Cooperation movement ended, Gandhi's supporters emphasised the importance of Congress doing constructive work in rural areas. Other leaders, including Chitta Ranjan Das and Motilal Nehru, argued that the party should fight for and enter council elections to influence government policies. In the mid-1920s, Gandhians were able to broaden their support base through sincere social work in villages.
