Detailed Solution

Industrialists in colonial India formed the Indian Industrial and Commercial Congress (IICC) and the Federation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI).
Industrialists protested against colonial rules that limited their ability to conduct business because they were eager to grow their companies. They sought protection from imports of foreign goods as well as a rupee-to-sterling exchange rate that would discourage imports. The IICC and FICCI were established in 1920 and 1927, respectively, to organise commercial interests. They first backed the Civil Disobedience Movement as they fought against colonial control over the Indian economy.
