  • Symphyses: Symphyses involve fibrocartilage between the articulating bones. These joints allow limited movement and provide some flexibility and shock absorption. A classic example of a symphysis is the intervertebral discs between the vertebrae of the spine.

Fibrous joints do not allow the movement at all.

Hinge joint, ball and socket joint are synovial joints which are freely movable.
