Detailed Solution

Maasai lost their grazing areas due to Cultivated fields being converted into pasture lands. Millions of everyday people in Africa who were members of pastoral communities faced many challenges with the change in time. Before the invasion of European power in Africa, Maasailand was stretched over a large area, from northern Kenya to northern Tanzania. But after the invasion, Maasiland was divided into two halves. White settlements occupied the best grazing, and Maasai was pushed into a small area. Pastureland was converted into a cultivated field as the British colonial government encouraged cultivation. Large areas of grazing land were also turned into game reserves. Maasai was not allowed to enter this area.
