  1. Ghaghara: This river flows through Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, joining the Ganga River near Chhapra. It covers a distance of about 1,080 km and is also known as the Sarayu River.
  2. Gandak: Flowing through West Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, and Muzaffarpur in Bihar, the Gandak travels 300 km southeast across the Gangetic plain and meets the Ganga near Sonpur, downstream of Hajipur (near Patna).
  3. Son: Originating from the Amarkantak Hills in Madhya Pradesh, the Son River flows northeast and joins the Ganga near Patna. It is the second-largest southern tributary of the Ganga after the Yamuna.
