Detailed Solution

Chahar Bagh was constructed by Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan.
  • The four gardens of Paradise revealed in the Quran are the inspiration for the Persian and Indo-Persian garden designs known as Charbagh or Chahar Bagh. The beautiful quadrilateral garden is separated into four smaller sections by walkways or running water.
  • Literature, fine art, and architecture piqued the rulers of the Mughal dynasty's great interest. In his book, Babur discussed his interest in designing and putting up classical gardens enclosed in rectangular walls and split into four sections by artificial canals. Due to its symmetrical arrangement into four parts, these gardens were known as Chahar Bagh, or "four gardens." Starting with Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan built some of the most stunning Chahar baghs in Kashmir, Agra, and Delhi.
