Cholera and tetanus are caused by bacteria.
Cholera is caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae, which is transmitted through contaminated water or food. It causes severe diarrhoea and dehydration.
Tetanus is caused by the bacterium Clostridium tetani, which enters the body through cuts or wounds. It causes muscle stiffness and spasms.
(2) Typhoid is caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi, but smallpox was caused by variola virus. It is eradicated now.
(3) Mumps is caused by paramyxovirus. Swelling of the parotid salivary glands is a common sign of mumps.
(4) Herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV-1). Influenza is caused by influenza viruses (A, B, C and D).
