Detailed Solution

Black soil is dark in colour and is also known as regur soil. Black soil is found on the plateau covers of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Malwa. Black soil is the most suitable for the cultivation of cotton. Black soil is formed from the solidified lava rocks in the Deccan plateau region. The ancient basaltic volcanic eruption happened, and lava flows covered thousands of kilometres once, when cooled, solidified into basaltic rocks. Climatic conditions, along with the parent rock material, are known to be the important factors for the formation of this soil. It is made up of extremely fine clayey material well-known for its capacity to hold moisture. This soil contains calcium carbonate, magnesium, potash, and lime.
