Anaphase II is the stage of meiosis II in which the sister chromatids are pulled apart by the spindle fibres towards opposite poles of the cell. The spindle fibres exert force on the centromeres, causing them to divide and separate the sister chromatids. As a result, each daughter cell receives one copy of each chromosome.
(1) Telophase is the reverse of prophase. It is the fi nal stage of mitosis where chromosomes reach opposite poles, the nuclear envelope reforms, and cytokinesis begins, resulting in the division of the cytoplasm.
(2) Metaphase I is a stage in meiosis I where homologous chromosome pairs align along the equatorial plate of the cell.
(3) Metaphase II is a stage in meiosis II where individual sister chromatids align along the equatorial plate of the cell. Microtubules from the spindle apparatus attach to the kinetochores of the chromosomes, preparing for their separation and subsequent division in anaphase II.
