Photophosphorylation is the synthesis of ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate in the presence of light.  F particles or CF particles of thylakoid membrane projected into stroma are the sites of this process. CF particle has a proton channel CF0 embedded in the membrane and a projected catalytic site known as CF1 which is the site for the formation of ATP in photophosphorylation.
