Detailed Solution

  • After Rutherford’s experiment, he concluded that the center of the atom is concentrated with dense material which is positively charged.
  • This he concluded because some alpha particles deviated making large angles from the center. Electrons revolve around the nucleus just as planets revolve around the sun. Due to this Rutherford’s model is also known as the planetary model.
  • Rutherford’s model of atoms considered the nucleus as positively charged and can be compared to the solar system.
  • Hence the statements, the nucleus was positively charged and can be compared to the solar system are correct.
