Rubber contracts on heating due to its unusual polymer structure. On heating, the long chains of rubber vibrate, and shorten causing contraction of the material. 

Water shows anomalous expansion. Upon melting, normally solids expand to become liquids that have more volume than solid. But when ice melts at $0^0\mathrm{C}$, the water produced has lesser volume than ice. This contraction continues from $0^0\mathrm{C}$ to $4^0\mathrm{C}$. Thereafter water expands like other liquids.
