Catecholamines (adrenaline and noradrenalin) are amino acid derivatives. 

Glycogenesis is process in which glycogen is formed. But, catecholamines stimulate glycogenolysis (breakdown of glycogen) and gluconeogenesis (formation of glucose from non carbohydrate sources) which increase blood glucose level.
