In the phosphorus cycle, there is typically no appreciable respiratory release of phosphorus into the atmosphere. Unlike carbon or nitrogen, phosphorus does not have a significant gaseous phase in the cycle. 

(1) The phosphorus cycle primarily involves the movement of phosphorus through the lithosphere (rock and soil) and its cycling between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Therefore, it is a sedimentary cycle.

(2) Phosphates are indeed the major form of phosphorus reservoir in the phosphorus cycle. 

(3) Phosphorus solubilizing bacteria play a crucial role in the phosphorus cycle by facilitating the release of phosphorus from organic remains or organic matter in the soil.
