The Act of Union was a major agreement between England and Scotland. It resulted in forming the ‘United Kingdom’ of Great Britain.
This act was passed in 1707. This act affected both the kingdoms and was the reason for the formation of the "United Kingdom of Great Britain." Before that, the nation was under the control of the same monarch since 1603 and the failure of the closer union projects after the revolutions of 1688-1689 and 1702-1704. After that, a parliamentary war broke out between the kingdoms because of foreign political pressure. On the other hand, the other officials on the borders of both kingdoms understood the need for support. The mutually viable solutions to problems given by both of the kingdoms became urgent at that time. Scotland needed economic support and England needed political support against French attacks. After considering the need for support for each other, the Act of Union was passed within three months.
