Detailed Solution

Rajasthan does not have laterite soil. Laterite soil is formed due to intense leaching due to heavy rainfall in tropical and subtropical climates with alternate wet and dry seasons. This soil is acidic, with a pH of less than 6 with a coarse and crumbly texture. It lacks plant nutrients such as potassium, nitrogen, and organic matter. It mostly occurs in the states such as Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, etc., covering 10 per cent of India’s geographical area. It is not found in the regions of Rajasthan as it is mostly covered with arid soil with low fertility.
