Filtration and sublimation are two techniques used to separate solid-solid mixture.
Filtration is used to separate heterogeneous mixtures from colloidal solutions or suspensions. For example- a mixture of sand, dialysis and coffee fillers etc. are separated by filtration because the size of the particles is large. Sublimation is used to separate mixtures in which one of the substances is sublimable. Naphthalene, dry carbon dioxide, camphor etc. A mixture of sodium chloride and camphor is separated by sublimation because the camphor is converted into vapour and sodium chloride is left behind.
