Preamble adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India. The Preamble of the Indian Constitution is based on the Objective Resolution drafted and moved by Pandit Nehru. The 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act of 1976 changed it by introducing three new words: socialist, secular, and integrity. These ideologies were already infringed on in the Indian Constitution and are an integral part of the country. Before this amendment, too, officially, these terms were added in 1976.
