Detailed Solution

The Constantinople Treaties recognized Greece as an independent nation.
Greece was recognized as an independent state by the Treaty of Constantinople in 1832. The Greek struggle for independence fuelled nationalist feelings among Europe's intellectuals. Since the fifteenth century, Greece had become a part of the Ottoman Empire. The rise of revolutionary nationalism in Europe fueled a Greek independence struggle that began in 1821. Nationalists in Greece received support from Greeks living in exile, as well as from West Europeans who admired ancient Greek culture and considered it to be the cradle of western civilisation. Poets and artists praised Greece as the home of European culture and rallied popular support for the country's fight against the Ottoman empire.
