Women did not receive the same treatment as men in Nazi Germany. It was taught that including women in the democratic struggle would lead to the collapse of society. Girls were instructed on how to raise children who would be racially desirable, be excellent mothers, and maintain their purity. The women who had children that were racially desirable were even given awards and given discounts on things like train and movie tickets. Depending on how many children a woman gave birth to, she was also awarded bronze, silver, or gold honour crosses. They were penalised if they disobeyed these regulations. Women were forced to travel around town with blackened faces, banners around their necks, and shaven heads if they continued to interact with Jews, Poles, or Russians. Women were also jailed for such crimes and forced to separate from their families and kids.
