Detailed Solution

Japan was not a part of the Central Powers in the First World War. Despite having played an important role as a member of the Axis powers during WWII, the First World War (1914–1915) was fought between the two powers—the Central Powers and the Allied Powers. The Central Powers included Germany, the Austrian Empire, and Turkey. On the other hand, the Allied Powers included England, France, and Russia. Furthermore, Germany occupied France and Belgium and accumulated initial gains for itself. However, after the entry of the United States of America into the war in 1917, the situation turned in favour of the Allied Powers.
