Detailed Solution

The Treaty of Versailles was the treaty signed by Germany after its defeat in World War I.
The Central powers signed many treaties after the First World War ended in 1918, which the central authorities lost to the Allies. One of these accords was the Treaty of Versailles, which was forced upon Germany and which Germany signed on June 28, 1919. Germany was subjected to highly harsh restrictions and war reparations due to this treaty, which the Allies believed in having humiliated Germany. To France, Poland, Denmark, and Lithuania, Germany lost its overseas possessions, a tenth of its population, 13% of its lands, 75% of its iron, and 26% of its coal. To reduce Germany's influence, the Allies disarmed the country. The War Guilt Clause held Germany accountable for the war and the harm it caused to the Allied nations.
