Louis Mountbatten was not a part of the Simon Commission. Simon's commission was a group of seven members of the British Parliament under the chairmanship of Sir John Simon. It included Clement Atlee, Harry Levy-Lawson, Sir Edward Cecil, George Cadogan, Vernon Hartshorn, George Richard Lane-Fox, and Donald Sterling Palmer Howard. The history of the infamous Simon Commission begins with the Montagu–Chelmsford Reforms of 1919. They were reforms to introduce self-government institutes in India gradually. It also mentioned that there should be a review of these reforms after ten years.
