Detailed Solution

Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul are West Indian cricketers who trace their roots to indentured labour migrants from India. Throughout colonial rule, many Indians agreed to become indentured labourers in the nineteenth century to escape terrible poverty and starvation. Some people travelled alone, while others brought their families to labour in the colonies. Ramnaresh Sarwan is a West Indian cricketer whose ancestors were indentured Indian labour migrants. His father was Kishan Sarwan, and his mother was Kumari Sarwan. Shivnarine Chanderpaul, another West Indian cricket player, also had his ancestors move to West Indies from India as migrants under the indentured labour system.
