Detailed Solution

The Chola, Chera dynasties, and Pandya dynasties experienced a golden age in the south between 400 BC and 300 AD.
The old Tamil nation was also known by the term "Tamilakam." During this time, Tamilakam was ruled by three different Tamil dynasties. The Chola, Chera, and Pandya were the three dynasties in question. The primary source of information on them is the Sangam literature. The Pandyas had Madurai as their capital, and their kingdoms were spread throughout parts of Tamil Nadu and along the east coast. Of the early Chola Kings, Karikala Chola was the most well-known. The Cholas ruled Southern India from their capital at Uraiyur almost up until the 13th century. The kingdom originated in the fertile valley of the Kaveri river.
