Which of these is correct with respect to snakes with ovoviviparous eggs?

Some snakes create offspring by hatching eggs that are stored within their bodies. Snakes that are ovoviviparous do lay eggs! 
They just don't put them down. Ovoviviparous animals produce eggs in their wombs, but the kids hatch before the eggs are laid, resulting in live births.
