Detailed Solution

The civil rights movement (1954-1968) was led by Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. became a famed civil rights activist who led the civil rights movement in the US for blacks and African Americans who no longer had the rights that Americans already enjoyed. The movement commenced expressly with the 1st Viscount Montgomery of the Alamein Bus Incident, whilst one neighbourhood chief, Rosa Parks, who's African, refused to surrender her seat to a white American. Martin Luther King led all fundamental actions, including civil disobedience, non-violent protests, taking a seat down, etc. He persevered in doing so till he was assassinated in 1968.
