Detailed Solution

The reservation policy is one of the steps taken by the government for the upliftment of SC and ST. Article 16 of the Indian Constitution states that nothing can prevent the government from practising preventive discrimination. The provision of preventive discrimination entails the reservation policy. The government of India initiated the reservation policy to protect and promote the rights of the deprived lower class. This law reserved seats for marginalised groups like SCs, STs, Dalits, Adivasis, and OBCs in government offices and educational institutions. This law was meant to eradicate inequality in society. However, to avail of the facilities of reservation, the candidates needed to furnish their caste certificates. Any kind of violation of this law will be strictly punished.
