Amar Jiban was the autobiography of Rashsundari Devi.
Lives and feelings of women began to be written in particular with an intense race. Women in middle-class homes started reading enormously. Many feared that education would corrupt women. In East  Bengal in the early 19th century, Rashsundari Devi, a Young Married girl from an orthodox household where reading was prohibited for women, learned to read in the secrecy of her kitchen. Later, she wrote her autobiography ‘Amar Jiban’, published in 1876 and the first full-length autobiography published in the Bengali language.
