Toy making is one of the Indian industries that has been hit hard by globalisation.
After the introduction of globalisation, the toy industry in India suffered a lot. As an open economy, countries like China and Japan started exporting their toys to India. The toys made in these countries are much more colourful and bright and have advanced features. These characteristics of toys attract the target customers, that is, children who prefer to play with these goods. In addition, these goods are made of cheap and bad-quality materials and therefore are more affordable than toys produced within national boundaries. This shifted the demand from Indian toys to Chinese ones.
