Detailed Solution

Tea is a beverage crop.
It was introduced in India by the British in the nineteenth century to overcome the monopoly of Chinese production. It is a type of plantation agriculture that Indians mostly own. The tropical and subtropical climate, deep, rich, well-drained soil, rich in humus and organic matter, is favourable for these crops. Tea cultivation was initially planted in Darjeeling's mountain region and then started expanding to other states such as West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala,  Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Tripura, and Andhra Pradesh.
