Detailed Solution

Petroleum is a conventional source of energy. Conventional energy sources are non-renewable energy sources that have been in use for a very long time. Humanity uses Conventional energy sources extensively, and because of intensive use, the reserves get significantly depleted. Coal, petroleum, and natural gas are conventional energy sources. Petroleum or mineral oil is India's second most important energy source. It supplies fuel for heating and lighting, lubricants for machines, and raw materials to manufacturing businesses. Petroleum refineries serve as a "nodal industry" for the synthetic textile, fertiliser, and chemical industries. The Mumbai High oil field produces over 63% of India's petroleum, followed by Gujarat (18%) and Assam (16%).
