Comets are solar system members other than planets.
Our solar system contains the Sun and the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune; dwarf planets such as Pluto; dozens of moons; and millions of asteroids, comets, and meteoroids.
Comets are celestial objects consisting of a nucleus of ice and dust.
They are frozen leftovers from the formation of the solar system composed of dust, rock, and ice. The range of the comets is from a few miles to tens of miles wide. As they revolve near the Sun, they heat up and spew gases and dust into a glowing head that could be bigger than a planet.
